Pulau Langkawi is the largest from the group of almost hundred of Malaysian islands, which share Andaman Sea with more well known Phuket (Indonesia ).
Over twenty years ago the area has been successfully developed into the modern holiday destination.

The local airport and th number of ferry connections, make the island easy accessible, thus popular among both backpackers and resort clients, who besides splendid beaches can find there golf courses, surf places and other activities including shopping, with quite large assortment of goods, as Pulau Langkawi has been declared a duty-free zone.

Although the water here is perfect for diving and snorkeling the visitors do not even have to wet there feet as almost all of the interesting spices are clearly visible behind the glass of Underwater World, which features a tunnel leading under the huge marine aquarium.

.More adrenaline can provide watching feeding of beasts, or similar show in Langkawi Crocodile Farm located on the way to Teluk Datai.

These reptiles take their share in part of local history, it is said that in the waters of lake Tasik Dayang Bunting lives a crocodile, the child of princess Mahsuri, who ended the life there after a false accusation. The places where she was executed is at present elaborated with marble monument called the Mashuri’s grave.

The tourist have two ways to admire the green canopy of rain forest from the air. Langkawi Cable Car carries passengers to the summit of Gunung Machincang, at 2,315 ft , and a bit more thrilling is experience called Langkawi Rain Forest
Canopy Adventure, where the tourist themselves slide the metal rope hanging some 30 m above the trees.

More relaxing way of spending the time on the island provide Telega tujuh (seven wells ) and other waterfalls, some featuring a swimming tank just under the fall.
