One of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia, long, skinny island on Dalmatian Coast consists of perfect mixture of sunny beaches in the shadow of historic buildings for slowgoers, with the busy nightlife activities for these who want to see, or want to be seen.

It looks like the long line of celebrities stay in the line to get to Hvar, and the frequent visitors include an actress Gwyneth Paltrow, billionaire Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and film director Steven Spielberg. Just several week before these words were written, Eva Longoria was seen partying in ‘Carpe Diem’ the local night club, which several years ago grew to the top world range. The rich quite often came to Hvar aboard their own yahts, Hvar Town became the popular yahting port as well as the centre for other sports like windsurfing, kite boarding or jet-skiing. The water conditions tempt for swimming and diving supported by the equipment provided by local schools.
Hvar Town offers a public beach, but if you want more privacy outside of fashionable crowds you can choose locationsin nearby Jesla or Stari Grad. The small inhabited islands just outside of Hvar Town tempt with unspoilt nature of beaches offering even more privacy.These islands are easy accessable by water taxi, or similar boats.
The island gets another flavour literally, from scents of lavender and other flowers grown there for perfume oils and relaxation stuff.
