The sand of Ibiza shores itself is a guarantee of the top class beaches. The tourist have a wide choice between the luxury beaches along the bigger bays suitable for water sports, and quiet, small coves, which offer the same sun and the sand but hidden from the public eye.
There are large modern beaches with the hotels cluttered aside, like Figueretas, and the small beaches hidden between the cliff rock, like Cala Xarraca, where the privacy is gained for the small effort of walking the narrow path leading to.
Ibiza Town ( Ciutat Eivissa )
Two famous beaches near the town are Ses Salines and Es Cavallet.
Platja de ses Salines is located just behind the deposits of the salt, which is named after. For the centuries the salt has been obtained there by evaporation of the sea water. Certainly the beach offers no salt, but the perfect sand, and plenty of facilities for active vacations, including water ski, kayaks, motorboats and surfboards to rent.
There are many of small shops there, and beach bars including the most famous chiringuito Malibu.
Nearby Platja Es Cavalet is the only nudist beach in Ibiza, with the end popular among gays. The nudist who lack the space on Ibiza, can choose the island Formentera,
which can be reached within 2 hours by the boat ride.
Closer to the town stretches the longest beach on the island – Platja d’En Bossa.
Often the night life of the pubs and discos ends on the beach here, and so the music is played till the noon in nearby locals.
Both d’En Bossa and Es Cavalet are well developed similar to Platja de ses Salines.
Worth mention here is also Figueretas, a flat beach with all modern facilities and the line of luxury hotels in the background.
Portinatix
On the opposite side of the island there is another popular resort Potinatix with four beaches along the nicest coast in Ibiza.
The cliff shore protects the bay Cala Portinatix from the winds, and this is the place often visited by the boats with tourist who do not stay overnight in Ibiza.
The small private island at the end of the coast is often visited by members of Spanish Royal Family.
The tourist who won’t mind to get off the beaten track and walk a bit through the rock will be awarded with the clean water ideal for scuba diving in the small coves Cala Xarraca, and Cala Xuclar located just outside of the town.
Santa Eulalia
The area south of St. Eulalia is more distinguished with ‘proper’ forms of entertainment, such as golf course, tennis fields and horse riding.
There is a small beach here, Cala Llonga suitable especially for families with children.
North of St. Eulalia has been taken in the past by ‘flower children’, and nowadays witnesses the tourists, who try to find the spirit of the past buying psychodelic works on the famous hippie market in Es Canar. The shore here is covered by the cliff rocks with less developed, more natural small beaches.
port San Antonio de Portmany
Although there are some nice beaches in San Antonio Bay, more people prefer these located some 10 miles SouthWest of the port in the area of bay Cala Conta.
Many of the small rocks under the water of Cala Vadella give shelter to various sea life forms, so this area is popular especially among scuba divers.
The beach also features the perfect sand, and it can be pretty crowded, the ones, who who want to have more privacy would prefer nearby beaches Cala Moli and Cala Tarida
Ibiza is, indeed, one of the best places where you can have your most relaxing and most unwinding vacation. This place houses very good and really attractive beaches; and this, perhaps, is the reason why so many tourists from different parts of the globe love having their budget holidays to Ibiza at least once a year. Aside from the fact that this place temporarily snatches you from your tiring work and everyday routine, it also offers a wide range of activities which you and your family, friends, or loved ones can enjoy.
